Renovation
In 2016, the building completed a significant renovation and was redesigned by Andres Escobar, of Lemay + Escobar. The building’s architecture captures the brilliancy of natural light that enters the rooms and takes advantage of the exceptional North-South perspective, capitalizing on the glittering panoramic views of the New York City skyline. The design creates a Zen-like encounter with all rooms being light and airy, minimally decorated with furniture that appears to be floating, and some of the most spacious bathrooms available in Manhattan hotels; each with a separate shower area and bathtub. The rooms have marble-top furniture with low-top drawers designed to double as luggage racks, and under-the-bed pullout drawers that allow guests live comfortably out of their suitcase or unpack and simply stay for a while.
