San Francisco‘s Chinatown neighbourhood is one of the oldest Chinatowns in America and is a testament to the rich, cultural contributions of Chinese immigrants to the city. It’s where you will find signs of the bygone times blended with modern flair.
I visit the neighborhood every time I am in the Bay Area. Here are a few photos from my walks around San Francisco Chinatown.
Did you know what Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco? He also lived and worked in Chinatown before settling in Seattle.
You can also see the Transamerica Pyramid from Chinatown!
I would recommend a visit to the Chinese Historical Society of America Museum which chronicles the complex history of Chinese people in America, from the early days of the China trade to the history of Chinese immigration and the life of Chinese Americans.
Happy exploring!
