Bob Fosse’s Dancin’ is Fosse’s full-throated, full-bodied celebration of the art form he loved and perfected. Originally opened on Broadway in 1978, the hit musical masterpiece has been reimagined for the 21st century by director Wayne Cilento, who starred in the original production. This quintessential Broadway experience for Fosse fans and first timers alike opened at the Music Box Theatre on March 19, 2023.

A modern retelling of a classic tale, Bad Cinderella transports guests into the beautiful kingdom of Belleville, where everything is seemingly flawless. That is, until Cinderella is left wondering to herself what happily ever after truly means. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, it’s a fairytale, a romance, a comedy, and a story of self-discovery, and opened at the Imperial Theatre on March 23, 2023. 

Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford made their returns to Broadway this spring in Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s landmark musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Opened on March 26, 2023 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater, the musical thriller tells the tale of a vengeful barber out for blood and a resourceful pie shop owner who team up to serve up the most unsettling pies in London as they wreak havoc on Fleet Street.

Lolita Chakrabarti’s stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s award-winning adventure novel Life of Pi will roar onto Broadway this spring. After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a sixteen-year-old boy named Pi is left stranded on a lifeboat with an unlikely companion: a Royal Bengal tiger. An inspiring tale of hope and endurance, Life of Pi began performances at the Gerald Schoenfeld theater on March 30, 2023.

Shucked is a corn-fed, corn-bred original American musical comedy following an unlikely hero in Cob County, a relatively obscure but tight-knit community threatened with extinction. Proving that sometimes tearing down a few walls is the only way to preserve a way of life, travelers will be offered a kernel of hope and a bushel of laughs when Shucked opened on April 4, 2023 at the Nederlander Theatre.

Lerner and Loewe’s classic tale of Camelot is once again brought to life in this new, vibrant story about a quest for democracy, striving for justice, and the tragic struggle between passion and aspiration. Audience members from near and far are invited to the Round Table with King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, and Sir Lancelot at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater.

A glittering love letter to the greatest city in the world, New York, New York is a brand-new story bringing Broadway legends back together. An exhilarating new score with lyrics by Hamilton’s Lin Manuel-Miranda, travelers to the Big Apple will be whisked through the heart of the city that never sleeps. Set in 1946 after the war has just ended and New York is beginning to rebuild, the show follows a collection of singers, artists, musicians, and dreamers as they prove they have what it takes to survive. The jubilant new musical invites everyone to be a part of it when it opens at the St. James Theatre on April 26, 2023.

Weaving the definitive and iconic hits of Britney Spears into a musical adventure, Once Upon a One More Time follows Cinderella, Snow White and other fairytale princesses as they gather for their fortnightly book club meeting to discuss Grimm’s Fairy Tales, the only book they know. That is, until a rogue fairy godmother drops The Feminine Mystique into their corseted laps. Perfect for millennial travelers and Britney Spears fans alike, the new jukebox musical will open on June 22, 2023.

Fans of the 1985 sci-fi comedy will be thrilled when Back to the Future the Musical makes its way to the Broadway stage at the Winter Garden Theater on August 3, 2023. Audience members will be transported back to Hill Valley in 1955 as Marty McFly accidentally changes the course of history. Music by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard guide travelers on this adventure to fix the present. 

Kimberly Akimbo has been touching the hearts of multigenerational travelers from across the globe since it opened on November 10, 2022 at the Booth Theatre. Named “Best Theater of the Year” by The New York Times and The Washington Post, the hit show follows Kim, a teen with a disorder similar to progeria, which causes her to age nearly five times faster than normal. The chronic illness causes the teen to live in the body of a 72-year-old, but she is determined to find happiness in a world where time is not on her side.
