The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival makes a return this year in a safe, family-friendly format to see the sunflowers — and take some cherished memories (as well as your own sunflowers) home with you.
From mid-August to Labour Day, the fields will be alive with 25 different varieties of sunflowers, and more than 50 varieties of dahlias. New this year are an array of colourful gladiolas.
Safety measures in place at the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival 2020 include:
- limiting the fields’ capacity to 25%
- directional pathways are 3 to 5 metres wide
- hand-sanitizing stations and safety notices placed where needed
- staff sanitizing high-touch areas throughout the day
- tickets sold online only, per one-hour block
- limited hands-on photo-op props
- no playground, picnic tables or lawn games this year
Chilliwack Sunflower Festival Opening Date
Due to this summer’s unusually chilly weather, Tulips of the Valley can’t yet provide an official opening date, but mid-August is the aim. Keep an eye on social media links for updates.
Chilliwack Sunflower Festival Ticket Prices
Tickets will go on sale on August 7 and will be sold by the hour:
- Thursday-Monday: 7 am first entry, 6 pm final entry
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 9 am first entry, 6 pm final entry
Parking is free.

Chilliwack Sunflower Festival Location
41310 Yale Road (entrance off of Royalwood Ave.), Chilliwack, BC V2R 4J1
The festival is located along Highway 1 (Hwy 1), less than a minute from Exit 109 (Yale Road West).
Drive 9 to 10-minutes past Whatcom Road, and look for the Sunflower Festival flags. Make sure you spot the City of Chilliwack sign and take the next exit.
